  1. Switch on the printer.

  4. If suggested, choose a method to identify your particular printer model, and then follow the instructions to go the download page.

  5. Select Download next to the full feature driver, or select the Basic driver for other driver option.

After Windows 10 Upgradation

After you upgrade your device to Windows 10, you are no longer able to print. Use the below steps to fix the problem and print again.

Note : After completing the Windows 10 upgrade, ensure to restart your printer and the computer at least once before attempting to print your document.

Step 1: Confirm all Windows updates are installed properly

Windows 10 upgrade process includes installing the required software updates to support the full features and functionality of the computer and connected devices. If all updates are failed to install, your printer might not work as expected. Ensure Windows installed all updates on the computer.

  1. Search Windows for change device installation, then select the Change device installation settings setting in the list of results.

  2. In the Device installation settings window, click Yes.

  3. Search Windows for updates, then select Check for updates in the list of results.

  4. Select Check for updates.

    Note : If Windows Update reports an error, remove any unknown printers listed in the Device Manager, and then try running Windows Update again.

    1. If updates are available, wait for them to install, restart the computer, and then try to print the document. If you can print, the issue is resolved.

    2. If your computer is up to date, restart the computer, and then try to print. If you still cannot print your document, continue with the next step.

    Step 2: Check the printer status

    Open the printers and the scanners settings to manage default printer settings and access hardware management tools.

    1. Search Windows for printers, and then select Printers and Scanners System settings in the list of results

    2. To allow Windows 10 to automatically manage your default printer based on the printer you used last for printing the documents, confirm that the Let Windows manage my default printer setting is on. Manage default printer setting in Windows 10

    3. Select your printer name, and then select Manage to view the printer status and access additional printers troubleshooting, properties and preferences features.

      Step 3: Uninstall the HP driver and software

      Uninstall the HP print driver and software that may be causing the printing issues.

      1. If your printer and the computer connects to the USB cable, disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

      2. Search Windows for Programs and features, and then select Programs and Features in the list of results.

      3. In the list of installed programs, select your HP printer name, and then select Uninstall or Yes.

      4. Follow the instructions to complete the software removal.

      5. Restart your computer.

      Step 4: Reinstall the HP driver and software

      After uninstalling the software, download the updated version of the printer software and ensure your printer has complete functionality with Windows 10.

      1. Switch on the printer

      2. If your printer is connected to the computer through a USB cable, remove the cable from your particular printer.

      3. If urged, select a method to identify your printer model, and then follow the instructions to go to the download page

      4. Select Download next to the full feature driver (recommended)or select Basic Drivers for other driver options

      Restart the computer and the printer after reinstalling the driver to finish setting up the software in Windows.

      1. Switch on the printer.

      2. Ensure the printer power cord connects directly to an electrical outlet and it should not connect to a power strip or surge protector.

      3. Close all running program on your computer, and then shut down the computer
