Print a Document using Airprint

AirPrint is a mobile printing feature developed by Apple and is included with Apple iOS v4.2 and further versions. It enables you to print wirelessly using any Apple device using a HP ePrint enabled printer after connecting both devices to the same wireless network.

Requirements for AirPrint Setup:

  1. An Apple device with v4.2 or other further versions.
  2. A wireless HP printer that supports AirPrint.
  3. Make the necessary changes to your scaling percentage based on your requirements.
  4. A secured Wireless network and applications that enable AirPrint Setup.

How to print using AirPrint Setup:
  1. Open the application containing the document to be printed
  2. Click on the Action tab to open the Action menu.
  3. Click on Print and in the Printer Options menu displayed select HP Envy 5642.
  4. If modifications are required on your print, change accordingly on the options displayed.
  5. After all the required changes have been made, proceed to Print.
Sending a Print job using Apple Airprint Setup
  1. Step 1: Select your Printer
  2. Tap the Action icon from the App that you want to print. It displays the menu option.
  3. Select Print. Printer option menu displays.
  4. Select HP ePrint printer in the drop down menu. The Printer option menu displays and it displays the selected printer.

Troubleshoot for AirPrint Setup:

If the print job fails, try the following pointers to resolve the issue

  1. Bring the router close to the printer and ensure that the printer gets continuous signal
  2. Restart the printer and the router after making sure that both your devices are connected to the same Wireless Network
  3. Print the Network Configuration page and check if the connection type in the report says Wireless
  4. Check if Wi-Fi is turned on in your Apple device.
  5. Ensure that the firmware of your printer is updated to the latest version. If not log in to our customer support webpage and download the update.
  6. Confirm that AirPrint is enabled on your printer. If not obtained, obtain the IP address of the printer and open your browser.
  7. After copying the IP address on the tool bar, navigate to Network Settings, enable AirPrint and select Apply
  8. Try printing from another device or computer.

  10. Reset the printer by disconnecting the power cord from the printer when the printer is turned on and then plug it back into power after a few seconds.

You can mail the scanned photos and documents directly from the control panel home screen of your HP Printer.

  1. To use the Scan to Email feature, you have to set up an email profile using the software installed on the computer or using the Embedded Web Server on the HP printer.
  2. You can use the Scan to Email Wizard in the HP software to activate the Scan to Email feature.
  3. Search Windows for your HP printer name, and click the printer name in the list of displayed results. HP Printer Assistant will be opened.
  4. Double-click on the Scanner Actions option or double-click the Scan to Email Wizard option
  5. Click new, when the outgoing email profile window displays and then enter the email address that you want to use with your profile.
  6. Next, you will have to enter an email profile display name. This is the name that will display on the HP printer control panel screen for the email profile.
  7. If prompted, you can enter a security pin to this email profile directly from the HP printer control panel.
  8. You need to enter a user name and password to sign into your email account.
  9. Click Next, then click Save and Test or Save, once you are done with the email profile configuration.
  10. On the HP printer control panel, touch Scan.
  11. Touch the Down Arrow ( ), and select Email as PDF or Email as JPEG, depending on the scan job type.
  12. Touch the name of the email profile that you have created recently, enter the password if prompted, and then scan the item. The emails will now automatically open on the computer attached to the scanned item.

  2. To print a document, click print from the file menu
  3. Click on the button which opens the properties dialog box

  5. Select the orientation (portrait or landscape) on the layout tab
  6. Select the appropriate paper type in the tray selection area and print quality in the quality settings area

SCAN TO CLOUD (Airprint Setup)

This document gives you an idea on how to scan items to your network destinations (for example, Google Drive ™ [formerly Google Docs™] or Box.net). Your computer must have an active internet connection to perform this task.

  1. Load the document into the automatic document feeder.
  2. On your Computer, Double-click on the HP Easy Scan icon. Now, the HP Easy Scan window will be displayed
  3. From the Scan Shortcut list, you can select a cloud destination to which you want to scan
  4. If your cloud destination is not displayed in the shortcut list, you can add a new destination to the list. Now, you can click the Add button and add a new destination to the list
  5. Type your login information for the cloud destination in The Destination panel, if prompted
  6. Finally, Click Scan
